Dr. Shazma Mithani is an emergency physician, health advocate and public communicator based in Edmonton, Canada. Practicing adult and pediatric emergency medicine, she brings a frontline perspective to conversations about healthcare systems, public trust and health communication. Through her clinical work, she sees firsthand how access to care, health literacy and misinformation shape patient experiences and outcomes.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Mithani serves on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Medical Association. There, she contributes to provincial discussions on healthcare policy, physician advocacy and the future of healthcare delivery. Dr. Mithani is deeply involved in physician leadership development. She regularly speaks on advocacy, professional engagement and the evolving role of physicians in public dialogue. Dr. Mithani delivers workshops and educational sessions for physicians and medical learners through organizations including the Canadian Medical Association’s Physician Leadership Institute.
