Vivek Shraya is a critically acclaimed artist, writer, and cultural thinker. Her work explores leadership, identity, and what it means to be human. Working across music, literature, visual art, film, and television, Vivek translates emotionally complex and socially charged ideas into conversations that feel honest and accessible.

A three-time Canadian Screen Award winner, Vivek created and wrote the CBC Gem Original Series How to Fail as a Popstar, which premiered internationally at Cannes. She also earned a nomination for the Polaris Music Prize. In addition, she has collaborated with musical icons Jann Arden, Peaches, and Jully Black. Her best-selling book I’m Afraid of Men earned praise from Vanity Fair, which called it “cultural rocket fuel.”

Beyond her artistic work, Vivek brings over a decade of professional experience in conflict resolution. She gained this experience while working in a Diversity office. She has also served as a brand ambassador for MAC Cosmetics and Pantene. In media, she has appeared as a guest host on The Social and CBC’s q. She also sits on the board of directors for the Tegan and Sara Foundation.
