About This Speaker

A true builder of the sport of hockey, Danièle Sauvageau has reached the pinnacle of her profession with her selection to the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. This honour recognizes a career defined by breaking barriers and building dynasties. Today, she continues to shape the sport’s future as General Manager of the PWHL’s Montréal Victoire, where she applies her legendary leadership to the highest level of professional women’s hockey.

Widely celebrated as the architect of one of Canada’s most iconic sports moments, Sauvageau led the Women’s National Team to a historic gold medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. This victory ended a 50-year gold medal drought for Canadian hockey. Her innovative strategies and deep understanding of team dynamics were crucial to that success. Over the course of ten Olympic Games, she served as general manager, coach, mentor, and performance consultant. As a result, she earned a reputation as a respected and proven leader in elite sport.

In addition, Sauvageau’s expertise in high-performance culture extends far beyond hockey. She spent over 33 years in law enforcement, working with both the RCMP and Montreal Police, including time in the narcotics division. These experiences gave her a unique perspective on leadership under pressure, risk assessment, and crisis response.

She later applied those skills in academia. At the University of Montreal, she founded the first-ever women’s hockey program. She also served as an associate professor at HEC Montréal, where she helped shape the next generation of leaders.

Furthermore, Sauvageau is a passionate and in-demand keynote speaker. She draws on her diverse experience to offer organizations actionable insights and practical strategies. For event planners and executives, she provides a clear roadmap to success. Her talks explore building resilient teams, leading through change, and creating cultures of excellence. By combining stories from the PWHL, the Olympics, and law enforcement, she delivers compelling presentations on leadership, communication, and overcoming adversity. Ultimately, Danièle Sauvageau helps organizations gain a competitive edge by putting people at the heart of performance.
